The Hotel Kriss stands directly on Bardolino's lakeside promenade, inside the pedestrian zone and a short walk from the old town. The rooms and terraces face Lake Garda, so the view is there from first light, before the promenade fills and the day begins.

The hotel is run by the Lonardelli family, who have kept it in the same hands across four generations. The welcome is personal and familiar, with the attention you would expect of a four-star house.

Rooms and comfort
There are 37 rooms, generous in size and designed with comfort and a light environmental footprint in mind. Many have a private balcony over the lake, a good place to sit with the sound of the water below.

Private beach and terrace
The hotel has its own stretch of beach with a jetty, for sunbathing and for swimming in the lake away from the public shore. On the terrace, a jacuzzi faces the water, well placed for the end of the day as the light softens over the far shore.

The kitchen: La Preonda Bistrò
The hotel's restaurant, La Preonda Bistrò, is refined and informal at once. The kitchen works from the local tradition and reaches into Italian and international cooking, with the produce of the area at the centre.

Active days and cycling
The location makes an easy base for more than a quiet stay. From the door you can reach cycling and e-bike routes through the Bardolino hills and along the shore, walking and trekking in the hinterland and on Monte Baldo, and water sports and golf courses close by. For cyclists there is bike and e-bike hire and a secure, well-equipped bike room.
